Andrei Arshavin Set to sign for Arsenal

Arsenl are into the final stage of negoatiating a deal to bring Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin to the emirates.
The Gunners new chief executive Ivan Gazidis is meeting officials from Arshavin’s club, Zenit St Petersburg, and the player’s representatives.although An initial bid of £10million was rejected, Arsenal have renewed there offer with a £14m bid.
Zenit had been holding out for £20m, but their bargaining power has been hit by the fact Arshavin has threatened to strike and buy out his contract.
William Gallas, meanwhile, avoided the temptation to spill the beans after French TV asked him about his relationship with
team-mates Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie.
After a long silence and an embarrassed giggle, the former captain insisted: “There is no tension. I play, I give the maximum for the club.
“I am concentrating on my future, finishing my contract with Arsenal and seeing where I’ll go in two years.”
