Striker Mido set to leave Middlesbrough

Published by admin on January 5, 2009

Middlesbrough striker Mido could be set to leave the club, according to the player’s brother.

The Egyptian has been linked with a move away from The Riverside for some time now, having been touted for a possible transfer last summer.

Any move in the pre-season failed to materialise however, but with limited opportunities having come his way this season his dissatisfaction with life on Teesside appears to have reached its peak.

“Mido is on the verge of leaving Middlesbrough because he wants to play regularly,” Mido’s brother, Tamer Hossam Wasfi, told FilGoal.com on Sunday.

“He was approached by some mid-table clubs in England, but is still considering his options regarding the next move.”

Mido had been linked with a move to Wigan last summer, but Wasfi has ruled out The JJB as a potential destination if the former Tottenham man does leave Boro this January.

“I don’t think Mido is tempted by Wigan, even though they are interested,” he added.
