Welsh striker Craig Bellamy has been given permission to talk to Manchester City after the club agreed a fee of about £14 million with West Ham United for his transfer.
The West ham striker demanded a move on Friday and was left out of the West Ham squad that defeated Fulham yesterday, with Gianfranco Zola, the manager, saying the player was “not in the right frame of mind”.
Bellamy, 29, wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur, who had an equivalent bid turned down, but West Ham did not want to sell to their London rivals and had concerns over Tottenham’s approach for him.
